I'm still waiting on the slogan thingy. If you have any suggestions please throw
them at me, because I suck at that stuff. Anyway, here's the dealio:
Burton's PlayLand started during my first deployment to Iraq as a way for Marines in my unit to post photos and letters to their friends and family back home. It featured letters from the Commanding Officer and video clips that helped show folks back home what life was like in Iraq. BPL v.1 had a very simple design, mainly because I actually had a job back then, unlike now. It ended in August of 2004, along with the deployment. BPL v.2 was very short-lived; about two weeks, to be exact. It started during tour #2 to Iraq, and ended there too. I didn't have a need for a personal site at the time, and I didn't have the time to maintain one either. The topic arose as part of a dare (someone dared me to get my site back up... I don't get it either) and being a gay-ass dare it ended pretty quick. So much for v.2. BPL v.3, that is, the site as you know it now, started at the beginning of tour #3 in the <matty /> |
